There will always be someone who is willing to use their body as a source of income and someone who is willing to request their services for whatever reason. Evidence has proven “that it would protect sex workers, reduce violence, cut down on sex trafficking and more.” (Reisenwitz). However, there are several negative aspects we would have to eliminate. Sex work is not a career that has many safety regulations. But, in many Nevada brothels, they make sure to maintain a clean and safe working environment for their workers and customers. The idea of selling sex for money may not be the noblest profession, nonetheless, the sex workers should have the same rights as any other worker. People will live their lives any way they want to and sex workers should not have to practice their work underground just because society is unable to accept prostitution as a socially acceptable career. By legalizing prostitution, this will allow the government to regulate the businesses. There have been several countries that have benefited off of the legalization of prostitution and so would we. Germany and New Zealand are both countries that have legalized prostitution. In the past years evidence has proven that the violence against sex workers decreased, and workers’ quality of life improved (Reisenwitz). Even in America many human rights organizations like, Amnesty International is calling for the decriminalization of every aspect of prostitution- from sex workers to brothels to customers (Clauss, Keenehan). There cause may not be focusing on the legalization of prostitution, however, it shows that people do care about the lives of the many sex workers and so should the United States
