In today’s society, prostitution is often looked down upon and seen as a horrible act. Unfortunately, there are many circumstances that can put a woman or man in this situation. Factors such as ancient history, health, and gender can play a major part in why and or how individuals are introduced into prostitutions. Throughout ancient history, women were forced into prostitution. As centuries pass on and it is currently present day, many women and men are now suffering from numerous health problems, most likely resulting death, by engaging in this act. Gender is also a major influence, because we see mostly women soliciting.
