Lately, in the news there has been evidence of prostitution. Prostitution is the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment (Burnette, Lucas, Emma, Ilgen, Frayne, Susan, Mayo, & Weitlauf, 2008). There are many reasons why women go out prostituting. Some of the reason in which women engage in prostitution is having a source of income (Burnette et al., 2008). Research states, starvation wages from economic view can drive girls into prostitution (Burnette et al., 2008). Children and young women from other countries become involved in prostitution (Widom & Kuhn’s, 1996). Prostitution is seen as problematic in society for young women, children and families. From a public health perspective, children, teens and women experience abuse and neglectful experiences from being involved in prostitution (Kramer, L. A., & Berg, E. C., 2003). Some incidents of physical abuse occur early in a teen or child’s life. Children and young teens are at risk of sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted and early pregnancies, and the potential to facilitate a youth’s transition into prostitution (Widom, C.
