Prosperity Gospel Teaching Essay

Different people interrupt the gospel differently. There is a small group of pastor who believe in prosperity gospel teaching. This is the idea where if you donate money to the church, God will reward you later with good fortune. This idea sound great. However certain people have had negative situation with this belief. One person gives money to the church instead of buying her medication and ultimately lost her life. The lists on similar situation happen daily. Some may be thinking does ideology go in line with Jesus is teaching. The prosperity Gospel has four pillars which are the bases. If we do not donate to the church than we will not have good fortune or other words you will suffering. (VF) “Suffering is an ineradicable part of life, even as fate and death. Without suffering and death human life cannot be complete.” We have suffering regardless of donating money to the church. The important thing is finding meaning for this experience. In Johnson text she talks about the reign of God. She says “The reign of God is that a result when Gods will is really done.” This is carried out thought shalom. Shalom are acts of kindness. When we do shalom we see the kingdom of God. We support we need to treat other with kindness and not thru money. Paul and James also support this though Faith and works. As human we need to have a combination of two items. The fist one is that we need to have faith in God. The second item is that we need to have action to do the faith. Also in Discipleship written by Rausch states “ Personal Invitation”. Jesus invited everyone who was willing to take the call. In the Prosperity teaching is just who can afford to pay which discredits this
