Prosecuting Speech; Closing Statement After listening to the arguments presented by both parties, it is up to you, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, to determine whether Brother is guilty or not. But, before you make your final decision, I need you to remember the pain Doodle was subjected to, simply because of the disgust Brother felt for him.
Brother had been a small boy when Doodle was born, yet it became evident that he concealed only cruel intentions for him. At the mere age of six, Brother began making horrifying plans to kill his few month old brother by “smothering him with a pillow”, simply because the thought of having an invalid brother became unbearable for him. All young children have the ability of recognizing the wrong in harming someone, but Brother was prepared to murder his own brother for very selfish reasons. Furthermore, the idea of Doodle’s death never left Brother’s head as apart from continuously repeating that “Doodle was going to die”, Brother had considered William Armstrong, Doodle’s original name, as one that sounded “good only on a tombstone.”

Whenever Doodle went out with the brother whom he had greatly adored, he fell victim to a great deal of suffering as Brother, even after being very knowledgable about Doodle’s frail medical condition, ignored all the don’ts that went with him. Brother careened Doodle’s go-kart “across the corner on two wheels”, dragged the go-kart so roughly that Doodle had to “cling to the sides” and turned the go-kart over, simply to get rid of Doodle, whom he considered a burden. Brother admitting that naming Doodle was “the kindest thing” he did for him, proves that he consistently crossed the line between having a rough relationship with a sibling and being considered a threat for
