The media keeps adolescents from other cultures grounded to each other because media can be translated. The adolescents may have grew up in a traditional culture, but have been exposed to Western media so they may combine a traditional song with a Western one like Bollywood. The older children have more freedom to explore the internet because they are less guarded by their parents than the younger children are. The effects of globalization have messed with the gender roles of arranged marriages and chastity among woman in some cultures. The media is restricted in some countries even restricted by gender. Hey are using their new gender roles they’ve seen through the media to construct their own gender roles, this is causing some conflicts in traditional cultures.
