Disregarding safety and going well over the speed limit leads to a quick lesson what to do after feeling unstoppable doom and then destroying both a car and a guardrail. Because of the massive amount of vehicle experience that I was raised with, being in some form of vehicle nearly every day was normal for the entirety of my memorable life, I believed that driving would be extremely easy and therefore could be executed at any speed in any condition. The everlasting skid marks and dent in the guardrail are clear indications, which will hopefully teach those driving in the future, that thinking as I did leads to very poor outcomes. When the car is someone else’s, caring about maintenance and thinking about the road are things that are completely ignored. Having another person drive a car that they are used to and understand entirely does little to prepare anyone for the struggles that are associated with driving. A vehicle with perfect maintenance can easily speed around corners and the driver does not have to worry about outside forces affecting the car. However, the passenger of that car would only see the car taking fast turns and that nothing bad is happening. This experience leads a long time passenger, such as myself, to over look any possible negatives that disregarding maintenance and always driving at fast speeds could lead to because they have always seen others drive in this manner and have never personally experienced any of the downsides this could lead to.
