Measuring the different climates there are many different tools that are used. The Koppen Climate Classification is the most widely used tool to classify different climates in the world (Pidwirny, 2011). Overall, there are five major climate categories; Tropical Moist Climates, Dry Climates, Moist Mid-latitude Climates with Mild Winters, Moist Mid-latitude Climates with Cold Winters, and Polar Climates. The climates are not perfect and human-beings are not helping the issue. We are distributing to the factor by burning fossil fuels, vehicle emissions having an effect on global temperature, and we are not doing anything to stop these consequences. Environment impacts are average annual temperatures are expected to increase, storms and heat waves are likely to increase, and many wild species will have difficulty adapting to a warmer climate and will likely experience greater stress from diseases and invasive species (Environment Canada, 2011). The environmental impacts are not small and will effect human-beings sooner rather than later. Human health impacts are the following: increased temperatures and more frequent and severe extreme weather events could lead to increased risks of death from dehydration and heat stroke, injuries from intense local weather changes, there may be increased risk of respiratory and cardiovascular problems and certain types of cancers, as temperatures rise and air pollution, and finally the risk of water-, food-, vector-, and rodent-borne diseases may increase (Environment Canada, 2011). These are high risks that humans are taking for the greenhouse gases.
