I’ve never been able to decline help to someone in need. I always put everyone else's needs before my own because when I sacrifice myself in order to put a smile on someone else’s face it gives me peace. Contributing to a cause to make the world a better place is worth the sleepless nights. When one is passionate about helping people it won’t matter to them how long they have to go without food or how tired they will feel at the end of the day. Just this week, I’ve had several occasions where I gladly gave up my time to do people favors or help someone in need.…

I realized that helping out with the simplest and smallest tasks can make a drastic difference in society. Volunteering at the homeless shelter is one of my favorite things to do. A few weeks ago, on a serene Saturday morning, my family and I volunteered at Loaves and Fishes. It was special to see just the sheer amount of people who had come out to volunteer on that Saturday. If you think about, they could’ve been doing anything on that Saturday morning. Yet, they decided to help give back to their community.…

If only there would have been more people volunteering, then so much more people could have been helped. And if more people can be help, then the suffering on earth can be ease. The big problem is that everyone is so busy with their personal life that they forget about the importance of helping others. A positive aspect I saw was that those who were already volunteering were really dedicated and kind hearted. I believe they are making a big impact on every person they touched and made it a task to spread their kindness.…

An elderly woman who got to take part in a high school community service project states, “Many think that volunteering is all about what you give. But what catches you by surprise is how much you receive in return.” This demonstrates why many people do not feel that they should give back because they do not believe the benefits that they can get from it as well. Consequently, when creating that feeling of happiness and satisfaction in someone else’s life, it comes back to the person creating it. Volunteering to help someone get tutored, help the handicapped, involve themselves with a program like Meals on Wheels, certain environmental work, etc., not only does one gain from that, but one’s community has been helped because of them.…
