Conclusion
We have always strived to do things that we could not. Even from our humble hunter-gatherer origins, developing technology and studying the world around us has always been ingrained in our psyche. The human identity, defined by the human biological origin and the primordial instincts of collaboration and problem solving, will continue to drive us forward. The path of limitation elimination has led the technology we use to become further and further integrated into human nature. Transhumanism and the concepts of human enhancement and life extension have been with us from the very beginning. Eyeglasses, PEDs, and prosthetic limbs are all widely known forms of transhumanist technology in today’s world. They are evidence that society has already

Completely adopting transhumanism with reckless abandon may yield disastrous results; our past has more than enough reminders of the wrath that unregulated technology can cause. The possibility of technology being used to cause pain and suffering is incessant. Being a transhumanist technology does not have any effect on this. Futures outlined in art only add to the destruction we may cause. However, this does not mean that we should outright reject the ideals of the transhumanist movement. Going down the transhumanist path is actually the most human thing we can do as it actually strengthens the components of human identity. We have always strived to become more. It will take time and caution as culture, morality, identity, and even religion will likely need to evolve alongside the technology that will come to enhance and subsequently transform us. Following this path can lead to an ideal future: human suffering is eradicated, we continue to advance as a species through science, and true equality grows ever closer. In the end, one thing is clear: adopting transhumanism requires us to be more human than ever before. We collaborate and help other more than ever before and overcome the obstacles before us by

Augmenting people for the sake of scientific advancement is a topic, which can lead to excitement and hope for the future. Sonia Miller believes that “[b]y welcoming and adopting new technologies [...], the human condition can be redesigned, allowing for personal growth beyond the current biological limitations” (Miller, 61). Although, this type of augmentation also raises serious ethical and social concerns among the general population. The depiction of augmented humans in popular media has become a significant thematic topic, in which our real world discussions influence. Media, such as the popular videogame series Halo, consistently show how biologic and mechanical augmentations are beneficial, and necessary, for the human population’s advancement.…

In the novel Feed and Rash and the short story “Harrison Burgeon” there is a theme that extreme advances in technology is making us lose our humanity. This theme is present in Feed because the feed in everyone’s brain changes the way humans interact and it takes away their simple human necessities. For example, Violet and Titus rarely talk face to face, instead they m-chat through their feeds. “Except with talking, it’s more like brain surgery with old, rusted skewers… (Feed 54)... She whispered, ‘Talk to me.…

As time passes, and as technology advances, the importance of humans becomes diminished more and more. This is seen in our day-to-day lives on a regular basis, even on small scales. What is the point in remembering who the 22nd President of the United States was when you can simply ask Siri instead? Why is learning how to spell a word so important if your computer will put a squiggly red line under it and correct it for you with a simple click? These questions sound trivial in the grand scheme of things, but I view it as the beginning of the end of humans.…

Michael Sandel in “The case Against Perfection” talks about benefits and drawbacks in genetic engineering, designer children, and bionic athletes. The benefit is that improving technological advancement, we will be able to treat and prevent many diseases that are prevalent today. The downside is that exponential growth of technologies will allow us to manipulate our own nature, to enhance our cognitive abilities, physical strength, and choose genetic traits of our children to make ourselves “better than well” (Sandel, 2004). Sandel argues that Genetic engineering offers us the power to master our nature, but that kind of power & choice threatens our ability to appreciate life as a gift, and erode human agency by allowing us to serve our purposes…

Humanity is having trouble with the prevalent rate of which technology is developing. It is remarkably rapid that it cannot be controlled by the human mind. Children are choosing robotic machines over regular biological individuals, which creates this bizarre experience between the human and the computer. As a society, we have yet to decide whether this development in the robotic machines is ethically concerning, or if we are able to control the path it takes. Sherry Turkle, author of “Alone Together,” believes we can control the pace and direction of technology.…

Cloning is a sin in front of god because in the bible it says “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them “Genesis 1:27. God created people in his own image, and for babies to be created in mother’s womb, in the natural way not in a test tube. Anyone who follows God and believes in the bible should not say cloning is right especially just for organ donation, because nobody should take away the life of another person because only God can take away lives. Men did not create our life but God did so a man should not have any right to take anybody’s life because only the creator can take what he gave ys therefore killing clones for donation purpose is murdering and it should be a crime. If people keep on cloning to save their loved ones or in the memory of them, then the generation is not going anywhere because we are going to keep on cloning the people that were here.…

When someone uses the term “prosthetics”, what is the first thing to come to mind? Is it an advanced robotic arm, or a simple plastic prosthetic hand, no more complicated than a mannequin’s? These shouldn’t necessarily be such opposites, but it is almost certainly true that the latter is more common than the former. Prosthetics have come an extremely long way since their induction. Pirates and peg legs tend to give us a reminder of how far we’ve come since the dark times where a prosthetic was a scrap of wood or metal where a fully functional hand should be.…

As people continue to upgrade and advance computer technology, focusing on mimicking human traits and patterns, it won’t be long until robots begin to replace us. Many people can say without hesitation that mass unemployment will erupt as companies resort to cheaper and more efficient artificial workers. People like Elon Musk describe how the only way for people to stay relevant is by getting upgraded themselves, adding mechanical aspects to enhance our skills. This second part doesn’t seem too bad, in fact its a sci-fi lovers dream (my dream) of slowly becoming one with robots.…

Human Being are Becoming Slaves of Modern Technology Have you seen how people today function? If you have you would see that we do not function well, especially without technology. Technology has been taking over enough to where we can not be but one second away from it. We have become too reliant on it, if it were to be taken from us we would not last long. Even though people think technology is helping us in many areas, if you take a closer look you would see that it really is not.…
