We have always strived to do things that we could not. Even from our humble hunter-gatherer origins, developing technology and studying the world around us has always been ingrained in our psyche. The human identity, defined by the human biological origin and the primordial instincts of collaboration and problem solving, will continue to drive us forward. The path of limitation elimination has led the technology we use to become further and further integrated into human nature. Transhumanism and the concepts of human enhancement and life extension have been with us from the very beginning. Completely adopting transhumanism with reckless abandon may yield disastrous results; our past has more than enough reminders of the wrath that unregulated technology can cause. The possibility of technology being used to cause pain and suffering is incessant. Being a transhumanist technology does not have any effect on this. Futures outlined in art only add to the destruction we may cause. However, this does not mean that we should outright reject the ideals of the transhumanist movement. Going down the transhumanist path is actually the most human thing we can do as it actually strengthens the components of human identity. We have always strived to become more. It will take time and caution as culture, morality, identity, and even religion will likely need to evolve alongside the technology that will come to enhance and subsequently transform us. Following this path can lead to an ideal future: human suffering is eradicated, we continue to advance as a species through science, and true equality grows ever closer. In the end, one thing is clear: adopting transhumanism requires us to be more human than ever before. We collaborate and help other more than ever before and overcome the obstacles before us by
