Welfare is defined as the general well-being of an individual or group of individuals. The welfare system is a system that provides financial aid to people who cannot support themselves. The government deducts the money from the working class and gives it to those in need. It provides them with social security, food, rent, education and health care. This can be taken from tax or just deducted from your salary. There are different types of welfare systems: In the USA, the term welfare system is commonly used to refer to the provision of welfare by government; in the UK, the term has been used to refer to an idealized model of welfare, in which the state takes a dominant role to ensure comprehensive provision; but in most of the European welfare systems, the defining characteristic is not so much the role of the state but of the existence of extensive social …show more content…
People might agree on this as it is helpful to society but people might disagree with this as their hard earned money is being taken away. I will state my opinion on both the pros and cons of the welfare system.
People might agree with the welfare system even though it takes a percentage of money from the working class it helps those in need including the elderly, the sick, the disabled and all the people who cannot provide for themselves. “Until the great mass of the people shall be filled with the sense of responsibility for each other's welfare, social justice can never be attained- Helen Keller” .This helps them with any important things in life that’s they cannot provide for themselves including social security, education, rent, and health care.
