It is true that some colleges have the option to submit the tests, but several other colleges with higher standards use them. Depending on the college and or career choice, the standardized tests may be a utilitarian decision, especially for those with high expectations. Although it would be difficult, meeting up with the student online or in person is very helpful and would increase the number of people accepted. The SAT is extremely important, most of the stigma around it comes from it being considered unfair or the stress of it.
