I am mainly against the legalisation of cannabis, but will in this essay discuss pros and cons for the usage of the illegal substance, cannabis.
Cons
I do not think that legalising cannabis would help anyone in particurlary. If the government would decide to legalise Cannabis, the people would more likely develop a habit for smoking this drug. According to recent studies, smoking cannabis can and will damage or even destory your nervsystem, if the user has been smoking the illegal substance for approixmatley between four and six years.
The government cannot allow this to happen. For the state is here to protect their citizens and by that, doing what they seem is the best for the people. Which is not legalising cannabis as it is dangerous for a man to consume such substances.

Prohibition also has an enormous amount of social costs, all of the cannabis are being sold at the blackmarkets. If the government would toss away the prohibition, all of the illegal cannabis could be sold in any drug store there is, which would make a huge profit for the state. This could lead to a huge activation of series off events, legalising cannabis would save the government a lot man-power in searching of illegal home-brewing cannabis junkies, all of the home plantations would wither away as there would be no profit in growing your own plants anymore. The pharmacies would make an enormous profit in just a few years, most of the drugcartelles would probably start selling other material rather than cannabis. If enough money is to be saved and reinvested in something else, maybe the state would build more highways and more roads making it easier to travel. Or they might invest the money in to free medical care or no school fee for the university
