The mid-1700’s and early 1800’s brought about a new era that would not only enhance its current time period but revolutionize the world. This era became a period of new wealth for the upper and middle classes. Machines were being developed to assist with the daily production of goods making it possible to produce more of these goods with less manual labor and at record speeds. The Industrial Revolution became a force to reckon with, it had instantly changed business, transportation, and communication for the better. Just as any era in history the Industrial Revolution had its downsides, though it was clearly an asset to the future driven by the hands of factory workers. The Industrial Revolution would forever change the way business was conducted, viewed, and regulated.
The revolution is what brought about change to the current society and economics. According to lessons provided the Industrial Revolution established not only the ability to move goods faster but developed better products as well. First, the working class was made up of poor lower class people who struggled more after the industrial revolution began. Factory workers made up a largest amount of population with less money as a whole then that of the upper and middle classes. The factories started to exploit the working class and their children. Children have entered into the working field, then many forced to work ten to twelve-hour shifts. The lower class had unsafe working conditions with low air circulation, lack of safety regulations, and poor lighting. The poor was forced to live in crowded and unsanitary housing with trash pouring out into the street. Although the workforce was poor, the industrial revolution was not so hard for those of the upper and middle class involved with this rapidly changing time
