Pros And Cons Of The Greenburggreen Initiative

Decent Essays
The GreenburgGoGreen Initiative is not such a bad idea. Think about it, millions of pounds of trash is dumped and picked up everyday from peoples houses. Yes, people recycle but that only reduces trash waste to a certain amount. If there was a way to reduce trash waste more, then why not try it? Of course it'll cost money, change always does, but think about the homeless people in other countries, such as India, who live around trash everyday. As americans we need to encourage positive change for the Earth so we can live more healthy. Change can be hard at times. Nobody wants to get fined for not knowing how to recyle expired yogurt. Thats understandable, so the solution to that is to learn. Post videos up on social media so if anyone is confused they can search it up or ask a friend. It's not difficult to learn how to recyle correctly. …show more content…
People value their privacy. I coudln't say that I would feel very happy about seeing a trash police look through my trash, and be fined for mistakingly putting something in the wrong bin. If Gatesburg was to place these recycling laws into action they will have to take into consideration of how people would feel about their invasion of privacy in their own home. Besides that I feel like the GatesburgGoGreen Initiation wouldn't be such a terrible idea. It would actually be a great thing for the community and help with the trash waste growth a

On Sunday 06/19/16 at 0008 hours I was dispatched to Green River Community College located at 12401 SE 320TH ST in the City of Auburn, King Co, WA for a recovery of a stolen vehicle. Dispatch advised a Kent Police Officer who is part of the Auto Theft Task Force, stated there was possible an unoccupied blue Ford pickup with an Idaho plate, but unknown what the number was. Officer T. Nunn arrived to assist me in searching the parking lot of the college and informed me that the truck was possibly related to this case. Officer Nunn went on to say Auburn Police detective D. Burney had put out an "Attempt to Locate/BOLO for a stolen 2005 blue Ford F-250 ID/K17560T". I later printed a copy of the BOLO and included it in the case jacket.…

The majority of trash we removed accumulated from people throwing it in the creek and by water washing trash into the creek. To prevent this I am recommending spending $60,000 to employ a French Creek Environmental Educator to travel the watershed, especially near French Creek, to educate individuals about the economic and environmental effects of polluting the French Creek Watershed. It is cheaper and more cost effective to prevent than clean up of pollutants as clean up costs include disposal, risk, and the environmental damage that could not be prevented (Garbisu & Itziar Alkorta, 2001). This concept makes it more effective to look so spend the money coming in from sponsors on prevention rather than…

Throught granbury there are many places that residents can take their recycling to in order to dispose of it properly. But just next door in Pecan there is only a single recycling bin placed right in the middle of the community on a road that not many travel. In the video pollution solution number 2570, Bill Nye helps us try to understand pollution of the earth in the form of toxic wastes, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and noise. He states that the earth is an ecosystem and demonstrates how human beings, industries, and other facilities pollute the earth which is a closed ecosystem. He further states that most of pollution comes from human beings but not big factories and power plants that everyone thinks. This takes place in the form of small vehicle engines, the noise that people make and lawn mower. All these are referred to as non-point source pollution.…

The GatesburgGoGreen Initiative is a great idea but also a somewhat bad idea at the same time. Both articals bring up good/valad points. The GGG Initiative is great because it will bring up the recyceling rate substantionally, but there is a point that you shouldn't crosswhen it comes to survalance of the waste. The GGG Initiative is great because it will decrease landfill by a lot, which is a fantastic idea seeing that we have a lot of un-nessisary waste. There are a lot of people that dont understand how to recycle correctly and the GGG program can fix it and teach people what goes where so that we can save our planet for a little bit longer.…

Help is needed from governments and industries alike to realize that Earth, and all who live on it, are in serious trouble. Our planet is falling apart, as the ozone layer continues to decrease, increase in weather phenomenons, ancient glaciers continue to melt and, in turn, sea levels rise. The population is not acting fast enough, and citizens are not taking serious action, therefore there must be increased government environmental regulations; higher carbon taxes, severe pollution laws, stricter fishing regulations, ocean and rainforest protection. Often times, consumers do not realize the harm of their consumption. A tomato is a tomato, they do not think about where it came from, the work involved in growing this product, or who was doing all the work.…

Those empty soda cans and food cans are natural resources, and we all have to recycle them. I usually get annoyed by all those empty water bottles in the normal trash, which is not designed for recycling. While the recycling one is just about one minute far from the trash! Just before thanksgiving break, me and my friend were heading out of our chemistry lecture, and I saw about five water bottles that were on the top of the trash in the lecture hall. All students were just walking by it, and some of them even threw their empty bottles there.…

All trash disposals would have to be collected by a building service worker, if they do not see a sticker they would not collect or they would record the offense and charge an appropriate fee. This represents an extra labor cost that the fee would have to accommodate for. The labor costs should not be excessive as many vendors only empty their trash minimally and building service trash collectors already pass by vendors to collect hallway streams. This is still a cost that needs to be calculated and entered…
