Nowadays, sons and daughter often face difficult dicisions as their parents enter their golden years. Oftentimes, a part of such a dicisions is based on whether or not to put the parent in a nursing home. Nursing home can vary greatly on quality of care, but there are also several other pros and cons. In my opinion, I have a neutral stand that the elderly should live in nursing homes. Healthcare professional, suitable environment, maid services and duty of the sons or daughter are the point in my essay.
Most nursing homes are staffed with health professional 24 hours a day. Through doctors might not be there in the middle of night, nurses are more than likely there keeping a watchful eye on residents throughout the night. More adult already …show more content…
Various indoor and outdoor facilities like badminton court are build so that the aged can exercise to keep them fit and healthy. Moreover, some facilities that are friendly to those disabled, for example, the particular washroom with anti-slip tilts designs are built. Futhermore, structured and healthy activity are planned. This will keep the residents in nursing homes active as the activity planner is profesional in this area. Involving in these heath activity that had been planned enable the residents to interact with each other and keep them away from feeling loneliness. They can have their story shared with their peers which is similar in age and experience. Besides, they can carry out activities with resident that shared the same interest and hobby with them. For intances, they can play mahjong and ping pong together. This will maintain their healthy body as the saying goes healthy body, healthy mind. In other word, it is our turn as a child to look after our parents when they reach old age because this is a form of appreciation to them for their great care in bring us from a child to an adult. As our parents getting old, they do wanted to be loved and cared by their children like what we wanted them to do to us when we as a child. Plus, by taking care of our parents ourselves and not sending them to nursing home, good moral value can be developed in the family. For example, when we taking care of our parents, our child will learn to take care of us when we are old. Imagine ourselves in the parent shoes, when we reach their age we also wanted our child to take good care for us. It is an undeniable human nature for a child to follow the example that had been showed by their parents, no matter good or bad. If the parents do something good, they child will be definetely influenced by their parents and follow what parents do and same goes otherwise.This situation is suited to the common saying that goes, treated other like how you wanted to be treated.
