Pros of Stun Guns
For close range self-defense, nothing brings an attacker down more quickly and efficiently then with the taser gun, the intent is not to inflict pain but it is to end the confrontation without loss of life. One Means of incapacitation with a less lethal force option for incapacitating attackers with a well-placed shot. Also when you shock the perpetrators for 30 seconds allowing you to gain control and subdued the individual.
Stun guns are inexpensive, often under fifty dollars, making them affordable for most individuals. Size and discretion are small, discreet profile, allowing them to remain hidden. Their size means that they are light in weight and can be rapidly deployed.
The Taser will subdue an attacker without a high potential of killing him. People have been killed by the use of Tasers. However, firearms kill people a lot more often. Most Taser deaths were due to improper usage of the less-than-lethal weapon.

Regarding all the death controversies, the police departments have a counterargument. They say that all their in-custody deaths cannot be classified as taser deaths, as they could have been caused by other traditional police impact weapons as well.
Cons of Stun Guns
They have a limited range and do not have far range capabilities from which you can fire the probes for them to be effective against a person. They are meant for close range self-defense. Have to be used close enough to use correctly. Sometimes that could be too close for comfort. Also have to hit your target to be effective. You have a higher chance of being overpowered from the perpetrators.
Don’t have rapid shooter abilities to use. May have only have 2 shots and that is it. Not good against multiple perpetrators or large
