Having even stricter laws may not hurt drivers in Indiana either. License suspensions should be longer. If someone is drinking and driving, their tendencies are not just going to go away with a snap. If a driver gets let off with a suspension on their license for just 180 days, that same driver may decide that the consequences are not too serious, and just go ahead and drink and drive again. If a driver got their license suspended for at least a year, they would have time to think about what they had done. This may convince them that drinking and driving is a terrible decision.
