Should Steroids be allowed in Sports

In professional sports, athletes take steroids to get stronger and obtain more muscle mass. Most take them for an unfair advantage or to gain an edge on the competition. Men and women all across the world take them daily. The very first use of steroids has been dated back to Ancient Greece. The athletes in the Greek Olympic Games consumed large amounts of testicles from sheep and bulls. The testicles increased the performance of the athletes in the areas of strength, speed, and muscular size. In the Olympic Games, observers could tell which athletes were using steroids and those who were not.
Anabolic steroids are mostly used by bodybuilders and athletes.

Steroids are not tolerated and comes with many consequences. There are many associations and leagues that have banned steroids and those include: The Olympics, The NFL, The MLB, The NCAA, and many more. The NFL says that their policy is a suspension for the first use of steroids and are expelled from the league for a second failed test. If an athlete is in the Olympics and tests positive for steroid use they are banned for life from competing. If an athlete has won a medal in the Olympics and then is found out to have taken steroids, then their medal is stripped away and are banned from competing. In baseball Hall of Fame athletes Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens have confessed and have been proven of taking Nandrolone which is a type of steroid. Both of these retired athletes should be in the Hall of Fame of Baseball, but are not because they had used steroids at one time in their career. Now, they will never be inducted into the Hall of Fame. ¨Track star Marion Jones pleaded guilty to lying to investigators about steroid use for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney¨ (Should We Accept Steroids).
