Stereotypes are things that almost every person has experienced. Fun Fact about stereotyping, Everyone has been stereotyped! Most people will say that they have never been stereotyped, on a certain level they are true, they haven't been stereotyped face to face. The things about stereotyping is that it’s something that causes a very negative and painful environment. Most people stereotype in their heads thinking about that person and how they imagine that person. A good portion of people are stereotyped about racial things.It's not just adults, it's teens too! For example, The top 3 stereotypes from students at Rancho Mirage High School are “Mexicans and Soccer, Whites and being dumb (Also Starbucks), And Blacks and not being able to do anything themselves. …show more content…
Stereotyping is not just about races only, it can also be used against an individual themselves. For example, A Student wears a shirt that has a small hole in it, people might stereotype and assume that because he/she is wearing that, they do not have the money to buy a new one, or they live in a bad home. These types of stereotypes cause the victims of stereotypes to be bullied or depressed.
Some students who get stereotyped about things personally, not racially, they get thrown down the social chain and make them socially awkward. Students who stereotype other people have been stereotyped themselves. You can go to about 200 people and ask them if they have been stereotyped, almost all of them will say yes, which they are true, most people have been stereotyped in some form or way. The small group that says no are the people who either cannot admit to being stereotyped or have not realized that people are stereotyping about them in their heads or
