In the closed system, it is very difficult to move up to upper social class than open system. Therefore, most closed system is found in less manufacturing countries where an open system is found in more modern countries. An open system depends on income, but closed system depends on birth. For example, in a closed stratification in today’s society is still continuing in some parts of countries, such as India. The other reason they cannot marry is because Brahmans are pure vegetarian, who do not touch meat or liquor, but in India most of people do eat meat except Brahmans, the family members of Brahmans will always stay in same caste, no matter what happens. Therefore, People who are closed stratification; they are determined by their birth caste system which they cannot change. This shows how they are required to marry the same caste as they are born, they cannot marry the upper or lower caste of their level. Brahmans are the strata that I have known since my childhood that have experienced many difficulties because it was very hard for them to find a life partner from the same caste to marry their children, since there were not a lot of Brahmans in India, there were very few of them in every city as most of them were Hindus and Punjabis.
