PRO: Social media is good for society There is much good that has come from social media, along with many productive benefits of the various websites. With social media prevalent in every aspect of daily life, the question is if social networking sites are good for society or not. Social media is indeed a wonderful tool for society, as it allows people from all over the globe to be connected, along with their businesses, their local news, and more. It brings people together like never before. Social media spreads news and information faster than any other media. Through the use of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the like, people are able to not only maintain existing relationships despite vast geographical distances, but also establish new relationships across the globe. Ultimately however, social media has behaved as any other new technology, by connecting and benefiting society for all those who use it for good and bringing harm and discourse by those who use it negatively.
