The main problem with STEM education is that is makes students quite narrow minded learners. Once they get into the groove of only learning about certain subjects, it will only become much harder to understand different concepts later in life. Now, this might initially seem like an advantage to STEM education, as most jobs come from one of those subject. However, this mentality is a bit flawed. Although we want to believe everyone in school will grow up to work at their dream job, that just isn’t the case with most students. This is the problem with STEM education. Imagine a kid who spends all their time focusing on engineering, only to find out they have no jobs available for them out of college. As all they know if engineering, they will suffer to find employment that they can somehow link to engineering. General education allows kids to know as much about as many things as they can. This leads to workers to are versatile, and can hop from one job to another without much
