In most states, there’s a standardized test for every subject a student takes. A major magazine for information about education called Phi Delta Kappan took an annual, “PDK/Gallup Poll of the public’s attitude toward public schools” (Testing Doesn’t Measure Up For Americans 1) . The 2015 polls were over the telephone and internet surveys among adults over 18, including public school parents, political party membership, and people of different races. Other than the students, these people are affected by testing too. One of the questions asked was, “in your opinion, is there too much emphasis on standardized testing in the public schools in your community, not enough emphasis on testing, or about the right amount?” (Testing Doesn’t Measure Up For Americans 6). Standardized testing has many problems that are not addressed. Testing isn’t doing what it is supposed to do. Standardized testing doesn’t reach a student's full potential. Schools need to be about learning rather than preparing for high-stake testing. No one is fixing the problems of standardized test in schools. Let’s give our student the quality of education they deserve .American need a wake-up call that the system isn’t working in education. Reducing testing in schools won’t give student’s a need to opt out of test
