After the September 11 terrorist attacks racial profiling became an issue for people of Muslim and Arab descent, due to the individuals that wear involved in the attacks were Muslim descent. Once the attacks took place, several American Muslims found themselves in situations which they were racially profiled. This was not fair to the American Muslims because there were several documented attack on American soil that were perform by citizens of the United States.
Racial profiling has PROS and there are also CONS. A positive side of racial profiling is that it could contribute to reducing crime or ever prevent crime from taking place. Sometimes a person could be committed to getting involved in criminal activity, however if the law enforcement agent intervene for whatever reasons could prevent the criminal activity that the person was prepared to commit. On the other hand, there are CONS to racial profiling. The law enforcement agencies could be held liable for charges for mistreatment of citizens. As of now when you hear the term racial profiling it is normally associated to minorities. A vast majority of people do not support racial profiling. However, I have strongly believed that racial profiling could and would result in a reduction of the crime rate. But, it must be presented such a way that it does not discriminate of offend anyone. Maybe the word racial is what totally sets it off with people. So maybe one day, the solution could be as simple as renaming the
