Energy is the ability to work, more, or elicit change in matter. Energy cannot be formed or impaired; it’s always preserved. Potential energy is a kind of spared energy that objects have because of their position or configuration. Energy comes in many forms, and can be converted from one form to another. Kinetic energy is energy of mass in motion, and the formula is E=1/2mv^2. The most important property of kinetic energy in the ability to do work, and it can be transferred from one body to another in collision, which can be elastic or inelastic. Joule found out about Energy and made joules by looking at a falling weight that was twisting a pole making temperature. Before and after, energy has to be conserved and stay the same. Examples for conserving energy would be: chemical energy to mechanical energy to heat driving a car. Conserving energy turns one energy into multiples by spreading them evenly throughout one’s force. …show more content…
