Pros And Cons Of Owning Exotic Animals

All over the world there are thousands of people who own dangerous and wild exotic animals. This is a serious issue that no one really thinks about. Many people own these animals unwilling knowing how bad they can act out or the endangerment they put the animal in. Some people often think owning such a wild animal is no different from owning a average day pet. Some people have pets like dogs and cats. Others have pets like horses and rabbits. Still others like to have exotic animals as pets. Because many exotic animals are becoming extinct and the wild instincts these animals have is so outrageously dangerous, it should be illegal to own exotic animals as pets. It should be illegal to own exotic animals, but people are often interested in owning exotic pets because they are unlike the average day pet. Some diets of exotic animals need high amount of meat or certain fruit that could only be found in a couple places around the world. People need to think of the needs of some of these huge exotic animals. "Many times when someone owns a wild animal as a pet, they're not thinking of the future. What once was an adorable little fuzzball, can grow to an animal that might eat 50 pounds of meat a day" (Torres). This shows some of the intense care some of these creatures need. Also some wild animals need specific weather conditions, that not every owner can not provide. Another reason why some people have unfit places for exotic pets is because they do not have the right medical treatment for the animal, if injured.
