Cleaning Up What is Wrong

Many people may argue whether or not it is necessary to clean up ocean pollution. Some believe that it is no harm to the animals. Others feel that pollution is a huge threat to the animals and can result in animal death. Even though individuals can respond by saying it is no big deal, ocean pollution should be controlled because pollution kills animals by strangling, stabbing, and poisoning.
One reason people should pick up their trash is because trash ends up in the ocean and that leads to the strangling of animals. For example, in the article Meet the Famous Turtle with a Serious Plastic Problem it states, “A turtle that was just a tiny hatchling, inadvertently walked into a plastic milk jug ring and got stuck.

Researchers estimated that about ten percent of garbage goes into the ocean every year. This is a major problem that needs to be controlled somehow.…

Water is everywhere covering over two thirds of the Earth’s surface with only about a third of the surface being covered by land. Even though there is an immense amount of water on the Earth, water pollution has become a major global issue that needs to be dealt with because water is an important resource to both humanity and the natural environment. Water pollution has polluted many bodies of water such as oceans, rivers, lakes, etc., and is extremely harmful to both humans and the environment’s health. When the population of Earth was smaller, no one believed that water pollution would be a major global problem because many people believed that the Earth’s water supply was too big to ever be polluted. But with the ever-increasing population…

In fact in some countries, dumping trash into the ocean is their only form of disposing of it. If you went and looked at the ocean floor in some areas, it would look like a wasteland of plastic for miles. This not only affects the coral, but also fish, dolphins, sharks, turtles, and crabs. They get caught in the plastic and are unable to free themselves. Many sea turtles are on the brink of extinction because of deadly plastic nets that we fail to dispose of safely.…

Pollution is the presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance or thing that has harmful or poisonous effect. Pollution is, in my mind, the biggest environmental problem. We think pollution is minor and that we have people on the job to fix it, but really we don't. The water and the air is polluted so much that we didn't even recognize it as a problem but as just something that is in our environment and that it's just gonna be there. We need to do something to lessen the amount of pollution going into the air and into the water.…

Animals such as sharks and whales rely on water to survive. If the water that these sea animals need to survive is polluted then they will not thrive and will ultimately die. When water is polluted with various types of garbage and chemicals, the fish and other seas either get caught in some of the trash or digest some of it. Sea animals are notorious for getting caught in the plastic that is used to hold cans of pop, thus trapping them limiting them from being able to eat anything. That can lead to plenty of deaths to fish and plenty other animals that live in seas.…
