“To send light into the darkness of men’s hearts – such is the duty of the artist” a quote by a composer, Robert Schumann. Musicians are skillful, patient, and creative people. They play or perform for audiences, which takes a lot of time and effort to be able to play. There’s lots of practice involved, musicians don’t become musicians with a push of a button. There’s been studies that show that musicians practice from one to eight hours a day, which is a mass amount of time used for playing. They have many duties that need to be accomplished. Moreover, some neutrals would be the hourly wage. The hourly wage for a musician’s career would be twenty-five dollars and fourteen cents, depending on what kind of musician they are. The musician career is expected to grow up to seven percent over the next ten years. That’s because of the demand for musical performances. There may also be an additional demand for musicians to serve as session musicians or backup artists for recordings to go on tour. Next, my advantages would be that digital downloads and streaming platforms are making it easier for fans to list to recordings. This gives musicians more publicity and it grows interest in their work. One disadvantage would be that many musicians can only find part-time work and then have long periods of unemployment between jobs. They will most likely have to get another job for the side, so they can still make a living. In conclusion, the last factor, compensation and employment outlook, has neutrals, pros, and cons. To sum up, musicians have a lot of responsibilities. They have to make sure they practice and stay on task. Sometimes it’s hard to stay motivated though.
