Our military and government should be allowed to interrogate and torture anyone at anytime if it could save American lives. Any technique of torture such as waterboarding should be legal. If our military was given permission to do whatever it takes to get a terriost to talk we could save many lives and possible stop future attacks and maybe end a war. I believe enabling our military to torture terrorists in any would be beneficial to our country. A pro of military torture is the prevention of terrorism. When the military captures a terrorist and try to interrogate the terrorist they won't talk. They won't talk because they're not scared, they know they won't be harm because of government restrictions like the Geneva Conventions, but if the regulations were changed, terrorists most likely won't feel very safe anymore. Waterboarding for example is a method that could be useful. Making the terrorist suffer until they provide information or keep pushing them to the brink of death could really change their mindset and make them want to speak. Some forms of torture are so gruesome that people consider them unethical and wrong. Torturing could also turn countries against each other. There is a bunch of treaties and regulations between countries that if a country would want to leave those treaties it could stir the pot between countries. Also this could cause turmoil within the country, I know for a fact that a lot of people in America are strongly against torture. Whether is because it's because of religious purposes or they are just against torture overall. Another con of having military torture legal is all the laws that would need to be changed and how long it would take to have the laws changed would take
