REBUTTAL Military recruiters should target students, and by target, it means providing career information about the military who otherwise would not be considered. Students are distracted by all the technology that is constantly bombarding them with all kinds of choice. Some students feel overwhelmed by all the choice these days. Students from all walks of life are seeking their place in society and these same students are allowing other people to make their serious decision for them. These decisions could prove harmful over time because the ideas that encouraged a young adult’s decision in the beginning, may make the individual feel as if they made the wrong choice and therefore regret some or most of their life. What is in a name? Military recruiters consider themselves interviewers first and recruiters second. It may be said, well, “What is the difference?” Dictionaries, both online and in print define …show more content…
These influencers are often times from the local Parent Teacher Association (PTA) or the Teacher’s union. They arm themselves with outdated military information that is taken out of context. They use this information to prove that recruiters are predatory and grooming young men and women into job opportunities that never come to fruition. Some organizations that appear to have the hearts and minds of our youth want to abrogate our military altogether. These same people believe in some degree that the military is no longer needed and as a result they have placed themselves between the students and the military recruiter. They can be quoted as saying the recruiters are ubiquitous and are concerned that the recruiters will be roaming the hallways trying abuse the students if one is not more alert and aware of certain
