2 President Ronald Reagan stated that "the government is best which remains closest to the people"(Rinaldi). Although Local Government is closer to the people, State government opposed some decisions that were taking by the local government. For instance, when the Texas government made local fracking bans illegal, many political considered this decision as hypocritical. 3 "while the local administration is often best at implementing policy, it poses a bigger risk of enacting laws that infringe on individual rights"(Rinaldi). Also, some areas at Denton are dealing with a shortage of water, which pushed the Local Government to ensure banning fracking operation. After a couple of weeks of banning, Environmental Protection Agency declared that fracking is friendly for the environment, and there is no any kind of pollution that could affect on the water. Therefore, Texas government canceled the ban and forbidden the local government from banning Fracking. Even though the local government is considered closer to the public opinion than the state government, state government have the ability to cancel any decision that taken by the local government. I think something should be done toward this issue because the local government works for the citizens'
