Admittedly those who use the black market to buy kidneys tend to exploit the poor in developing countries and undergo unsafe procedures. However If the desperation to receive a kidney is taken away by a government regulated system the risks associated with the black market would lessen. The black market has had many cases where the proper medical tests and sterilization standards were not met. This lead to many deaths of those who gave and received organs. Regarding the immorality, the line between right and wrong is a blurred one, everyone interprets it differently. Those opposed think that selling parts of the human body devalues it. “To treat them [bought and sold goods] as commodities, as instruments of profit and use. But not all goods are properly valued in this way. The most obvious example is human beings”(Sandel, par. 28) While others think of it as selling part of their body in order to save a life and benefit their own.
