Pros And Cons Of Legalizing Prostitution

Prostitution is one of the world's oldest profession. When one engages in the practice or occupation of sexual activity with another person for the exchange of a payment. While watching most tv shows or movies we see prostitution as this luxurious profession where business occurs in upscale hotels and bars involving high payments. For others in this business, that's not always the case. Some women who want to get out of this business will try and run away but then they are hunted down and assaulted. Many believe that prostitution is a victimless crime because no one is necessarily harmed given that both people give each other their consent. Others argue against that prostitution is a victimless crime because a pimp demands the prostitute to participate in sexual exchanges for employment. This is believed to be considered rape and sexual harassment because the prostitute does not give her consent. Pity should not be brought upon woman like they are the victim and nor should men look like monsters for paying for sex. The fallacious of woman being the victim and men being the monsters needs to come to an end and the legalization of prostitution with make that occur. Long states “...more women will feel empowered to perceive their activities not as degrading or demeaning but, rather, as uplifting and beneficial." Rather woman feeling like they are being degraded by men they will feel like they have self worth and be proud of themselves for making their own money.
