Immigration is a highly debated topic all over the United States. As an advisor to the U.S. president, I will be giving a recommendation on the position the White House should take. There are many advantages and disadvantages when it comes to immigration, and I will cover all of those throughout this statement.
There are many positive stances on immigration. For one, there are many job openings that need filled in the United States. Migrants accounted for a 47% increase in the workforce in the United States in the past ten years. When immigrants come from other countries, it is sometimes easier for companies to fill these positions. It also helps that they have certain skill sets and educational backgrounds that some Americans do not have. With today's immigrants being more diverse and from more countries than a century ago, this helps with having a more diverse skill range which help companies. Immigrants will also often complete jobs that a lot of the U.S. population will not do, and they will do it for lower pay. While this ruffles Americans feathers, it benefits the United States.
