Pros And Cons Of Honor Codes

We should not have an honor code
Honor code’s are something that students all get nervous of. We should not have an honor code because students will not follow the honor code. If we do have an honor code students might cause students to act more wildly to and they will take it as a joke. Also the honor code might make students and teachers have more work and even stress out over little things like catching plagiarism or cheating.
First of all there is something that honor codes will not work for. They won't always help with stopping people who cheat. Honor codes will cause more distractions which may involve students not doing what they are told to do or they will just cheat more. While teachers have to worry about cheating going on, the students may lose a diploma for a very small incident that happens. With honor codes teachers will have to see what kind of cheating may be going on. The teachers may have to look up work from an essay, check homework assignments, and make sure everything is done perfect. This cause the teachers and professors even much more work which may cause them to get even more stressed than they already are. On the other hand, students may have many risks if they accidentally copyright something or even cheat. The risk students have may be retaking the classes, paying more money or even loss of their diplomas, which is something that students can get very worried about. An example of this could be when “instructor Lou Bloomfield said he started to worry about plagiarism after a student confined that some of her friends had copied papers from a file in their sorority. To find out for sure, Bloomfield spent an afternoon programming a computer to spot repeated phrases”( Kahn). This is something that makes teachers and students get more work and this gives them more problems to worry about. Without the honor code their learning and jobs could be made
