Pros And Cons Of Gun Control In The United States

The Second Amendment states: “ A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Gun control refers to laws or policies that regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification, or use of firearm. In the United States, 270 million gun distributed throughout, and 22% of Americans own one or more guns. Gun restrictions have always existed, and a majority of Americans supports new restrictions being made also. Others feel that it’s the individual’s right to bear arm and argue that it’s for self defense from growing criminals and to keep them safe from crimes that are “around the corner” from them on the daily. Gun control, like anything else, have pros and cons. The first pro is that more gun control laws will reduce the deaths caused by guns. Over 30 thousand people are killed by guns each year in the U.S., primarily caused by African Americans. Many wants high-capacity magazines to be banned because they often are the cause to mass murder.
