While I would veto this bill because of the cons, there would be pros to this for the short term and the long term. A short-term pro would be that genetic abnormalities would dramatically decrease almost instantly, and at the same time so would common sicknesses among children because a large part of the population would be immune from birth, so they could not be infected with the disease, which means that they cannot transmit the disease. It is just like medicine that is created for sicknesses and defects. While it may help solve one problem, it has the potential to create a whole list of others. In today’s society, hate and prejudice are already in abundance, so why give people another reason to discriminate against each other over something that they had no say in, and cannot possibly change? It is similar to judging someone based on their skin color, nobody got to choose what color they wanted to be. Another major con is that if you make everyone resistant to a certain disease from birth, medical companies will stop providing treatment for that particular disease, which could end up hurting society in the event of that disease mutating and bypassing our
