Should teens in the us adopt the british custom of taking a “gap-year” between high school and college? When young adults think of college, some may get scared because they realize they are starting their adult life and have to decide what they are going to do. You have to think of money, a job, maybe rent, even just getting into a college. Now students are considering whether to take a gap year between their high school and college education. Students should consider taking a gap year between their high school and college education. Teens aren't educated yet on money manage and not quite sure what they are going to do for a career. After being in school for 12 years, a gap year gives you a chance to take a break and let you think about what you really want to do with your life and for a career. You can take this time to work and save up money to help pay for college costs. You can also take this time to travel and learn about other countries, different cultures, and volunteer for other things also. There are benefits to students that take a gap year both academic and personal. Academic benefits may include, more concentration on their school education, higher GPA,and a better understanding on what degree they want to graduate with. Personal benefits include, being independent,finding what you will love to do. If students aren't forced to go to college right away, they might choose to go to college on their own time and love it and be more interested in going. When students see how different things are here in the united states then in third world countries it might inspire them to finish out school and help throughout the
