Disregarding the mother’s perspective can be compared to getting an arm amputated and declaring the action is immoral from the arms point of view. Abortion differs in each case and no situation is the same, to equate a case to another is immoral and unfair to the parties involved. Marquis writes “Since we do believe that it is wrong to kill defenseless little babies, it is important that a theory of the wrongness of killing easily account for this” although he is using emotional blackmail, it does not stray me from pointing out that embryos are not babies and due to the account of miscarriages and health issues it is not determined they will have a future. In a modern world the issue of abortion is one of the most controversial because people usually have opposite views about it. From one point of view, abortion is considered to be a sin, murder, and it is condemned. They feel as though each human has a right to live. From the other side, people recognize the right of a woman to manage her body, her life and to decide to birth a baby or not. Some people consider a fetus to be a rightful human being that should be respected, and some people are sure that during the initial stages of pregnancy, a few cells cannot be considered as a real human, and that’s why abortion should be allowed.…

However, Groothius leaves the mother 's rights and the potentially improper environmental circumstances out of this special “moral consideration” humans are allegedly worthy of. In his argument, it seems as though the only humans worthy of this unique consideration are unborn fetus’s, as Groothius repeatedly ignores the emotions and lives of those carrying and caring for the child. Groothius states:“An unwanted pregnancy is difficult, but the answer is not to kill a human being in order to end that pregnancy. Moreover, a baby can be put up for adoption and bring joy to others” (3). A woman deserves to have the right to decide what happens to her own body, and in this case, the fetus within her.…

Denying a woman’s right to safely and legally obtain an abortion is a subliminal nod to undermine the importance of women. For rape victims, it tells society that if a woman is raped, it is her own fault and responsibility to bear not only the psychological effects of sexual assault, but also the physical burden of carrying an unwanted child made by an unwanted parent. This toxic victim-blaming is only one of the examples of society telling people it is okay to commit crimes, and telling the victims of crimes to be at fault. “Don’t wear provocative clothes,” or “They were just asking to be raped” gets tossed around so much these days without a second thought, but the people of today need to realize how much rape culture like this is damaging both women and men of all…

While Singer’s claim is debatable, he seems to be neglecting the fact that humans also need other types of nutrient to survive and develop. The vegan ideal would hinder “women, children, the aged, and others” who “have substantially different nutritional requirements” physically (George 19). The Human Energy Requirements lists the different nutrients needed to survive and develop for people in different stages of life; some stages, such as infancy, require more certain nutrients than adults. As a matter of fact, vegan infants and toddler often lack essential nutrients for body development, such as “vitamins D and vitamin B12, iron, calcium, and zinc” (qtd. in George 25).…

It is not the lack of meat, nor is it the abundance that makes one person healthier than another, yet the vegan lifestyle is not a healthy choice for any individual. Pursuing a vegan diet would mean taking on the added high risks of malnourishment, vitamin deficiencies and overly processed foods. The goal of the vegan culture is short-sighted and will not address a change in the farming and meat industries. The risks in a vegan diet without doubt would outweigh rewards, if there are any. Due to the lack of scientific evidence to support most vegan’s claims, the validity of their statements is highly disputed.…
