Evidence-Based Public Health Stages of Mental Health Intervention
Two approaches to implementing community health improvements interventions include evidence-based public health and research-driven approaches. Each intervention has its strengths and limitations (Peter et al., 2012). Much of the discussion will be done on evidence-based public health which emphasizes on the scientific basis of preventing disease and dissemination of rigorously evaluated interventions from governmental and academic agencies to the surrounding communities. Evidence-based public health acknowledges that efficacy of a particular intervention in controlled trials does not lead to wide implementation in the communities.
The process of evidence-based health improvement in the community is a technique that exposes the community to selection, adaptation, and implementation of public health programs. It is a process that is designed to translate effective interventions into sustainable programs that meet the community needs.

Research has established that it is the most effective procedure in treating panic disorder, fears, social and generalized anxiety disorders among many other conditions. It is a kind of treatment that addresses negative patterns and distortions in the way people look at the world. It is composed of both cognitive and behavior therapy. Cognitive therapy examines the negative cognitions or thoughts that lead to anxiety whereas behavior therapy simply examines how individuals behave and react to situations that are likely to trigger anxiety.
