Decent Essays
If I, Ernest Howard Rockhill III was running for class president I would guarantee more freedom during learning labs. There would be no more teachers telling you when you can or cannot play ping pong with your bros. If this was true I could wreak havoc on Matt in ping pong. The principal of CSD, Connie Wessner would also make your day better by extending jump start, the break between second and third period by five minutes. If we had this extended jump start it would keep people from being so aloof, distant from each other. I would also make learning labs, free periods more flexible so you can switch up the order of your classes if you want. That is why I thoroughly believe that I, Ernest Howard Rockhill III would make the greatest Community

While we are imagining this also imagine that you are the black child born into this slavery and having to go through the beating and mistreatment while growing up. Later in life as an African American you must go through segregation, Jim crow laws, fugitive slave act, the civil war, the 14th and 15th amendment and lastly the black codes. Now no one wants to ever go through this as child or as an adult, but there was a person that did and his name was Allen Allensworth. Through his struggle as a young child and later as an adult he would later find a town or better known as a community that African Americans could live in peacefully.…

In our book it states, “‘With it, your audience will forgive just about everything else you do wrong. Without it, you can hit every bull’s eye in the room, and no one will be impressed”(Pg 304 Lines 12-15). Allies is correct by saying this. Being likable gives a speaker several advantages.…

Throughout the book there are many characters that have been known as bad or good and changed to good or bad, but there are also characters that stay the same throughout the whole book. An evil character in To Kill A Mockingbird would hands down be mr.Bob ewell. Most people in Maycomb would consider him trash and he also lives in the dumb. Not only do people think of him as trash but his respect for others is trash, for example he spat on Atticus face after the trial. On page 290,it says, mr.Bob Ewell stopped atticus on the post corner , spat in his face.…

This really began with the Renaissance when the printing press began to print information and people could actually read. This led to learning, people questioning everything, and in the end, how do we better ourselves? Once of these betters, so to speak, would be the Scientific Revolution. Thanks in part to the successes made in science, people began to believe through solid results that thinking, relating, or better stated, philosophizing, an idea was acceptable, no matter the results, because the results have proven positive. For example, “Edward Jenner developed a vaccine against smallpox, a disease whose path of death spanned the centuries” and Joseph Priestly and Antoine Lavoisier “built the framework for modern chemistry” (144).…
