The most efficient filing method is electronically. Electronic filing records are easily shared, take up less space inside the office, and can be viewed by more than one health care professional at a time. Electronic filing is the best filing method for time management. The downfall involving the electronic filing method is system security. If an office is going to use the electronic filing method they have to have good cyber security to ensure the files do not get hacked or breached. Another filing method is paper filing. There are three basic ways to the paper filing method, numerical, alphabetical, and alphanumerical. The paper filing method is still the most commonly used way to file medical records. Unlike electronic filing, paper filing has more cons than pros.
