The con that may be preventing a company from going forward to implement a drug testing policy would be the accuracy of the test results. There are few different methods that used when someone is being tested. These methods include; first the most common types would be breath & urine. Some other methods that can be used to test for drug use would be hair, oral fluid, blood and sometimes even sweat. While disregarding the fact that there are many types of methods used for drug testing. Whichever method was being used, the results from each method would only confirm that the person was in fact exposed to a drug. Drug testing can benefit employees by giving them a safe, mostly hazard free work environment—at least free from any hazard caused by drug abusers. Oh, yes let not forget maybe some type of bonus or perhaps a raise, since the employer would have some financial gain especially with using drug testing as a tool to phase out any unusable applicants. One other part of society that could benefit from companies implementing drug testing would be the consumer. The consumer buys the products and/or service that a company would produce or offer. This is extremely important because the consumer would feel completely ease just knowing, that they are giving up their hard-earned money to a company the drug test any potential candidate before even being employed. The reason the consumers would be at ease is because consumers know and understand without substance abusers there would be more quality employees. So with more qualified employees also quality products and services. If all employer could just do one thing to grow and improve its company, it would definitely be Pre-employment drug testing. There are so many vast benefits a company can gain just by implementing a Pre-employment drug testing policy. In this situation, the benefits considerably outweigh the expenses of drug testing or any other con about employment drug testing. All employers should most definitely consider implementing some type of employment drug testing policy if they want to increase revenue and grow as a company. Once employers implement pre-employment drug testing they will begin to notice that their absenteeism rates decreased, lower turnover rates, even eliminated drug-related accidents in the
