Essay #1: Discrimination Through Genetic Screening

Starting off, I believe discrimination through genetic screening can be justified. Greed is in human nature, either for money, property, and many more. Nobody would want to choose to live an horrible life without any money, food, and home. Like all others, entrepreneurs would want his/her business to have the best people that would fit well with their environment, but also somehow improve their business. So, I believe it would be reasonable for the business to have genetic screening results of people who wants to be in their business so that they can choose people that will fit well with the business and improve their product.

This disease might harm other employees or customers, which will ruin the business’ …show more content…
However, censoring the Internet for children would definitely limit what adults could view and communicate.

Preventing your children to have access to inappropriate websites can be achieved without removing the website itself. I strongly believe it is the parent's responsibility to limit the access of the Internet for their children. For example, filtering can be done by parents by making a list of obscene words and phrases, and making the system unable to download the material if those words or phrases are found.

Secondly, the censorship of information on the internet takes away people's right to free speech, which violates the First Amendment. Swear words are censored because of how people think it is harmful for children, and sometimes adults. However, I think differently. I believe swear words are one part of our expression. We talk to people with profanity to show and explain more about your state of feeling at

The first amendment allows Americans to freely express themselves without the fear of imprisonment. This amendment is also understood as a gateway to freely using offensive language regardless of how it impacts an individual. Although there are certain words and phrases that should not be used, it is important that there is a distinction between something that is prohibited versus something generally frowned upon. Words should not be banned, that can lead to other words/phrases/etc also being banned, and that will diminish the significance of the first amendment. Instead, society should be made aware of why certain phrases or words are offensive, thus leading to a conscious and consensual removal of said phrases or words.…

There are many reasons for this. The first is that technology and the internet run the modern world, whereas in the past, face-to-face communication was the only option to connect with others. Technology and the internet allow people to connect with others on the planet; however, using it also exposes the user to the dangers of it. Many parents choose not to monitor their teenager’s online activity, thinking they would be learning of their teen’s private thoughts. In reality, though, this is not the case, as the world can already see what the teenager is doing online. Not monitoring kids is basically negligence on the parent’s part, as the child may not know how to tell apart risks from the ordinary internet happenings. Therefore, parents of children and teens should monitor their technology and internet use, in order for the welfare of the young…

America has not always the great country we have been lead to believe. Since the end of the civil war, racism against blacks grew greater and greater with every passing day making it harder for these people to live their lives. This leads to the unfair treatment of immigrants trying to find a new life in America after being pushed out of their countries by poverty, revolution, and starvation. These events happen with an incompetent government only interested in doing anything to benefit itself. America has treated the people living within and arriving at the country with discrimination with an incompetent government.…

I believe that anyone at an any given time can be subjected to some harmful or subjective material on the internet. However, we cannot allow minor and few circumstances permission to control our internet. We would become a country that we have worked so hard to become, and a country we are proud to be a part of. I don’t think Internet Censorship would do us any favors. It violates our first amendment, forces us to become a communist society, and prevents us from receiving the truth.…

The first amendment is freedom of speech: it includes any act of obtaining, receiving, or giving information, regardless of the medium used. Censorship is needed to a certain point. Hiding adult content from toddlers is probably the best thing to do, but if your child ask you about something don't brush it off. The conversation will be awkward for all parties involved but at least they will understand the subject and decided for themselves what they think about it.…

As time goes on it seems that the content in media gets worse and worse, and with such easy access to multiple media platforms, it's understandable that parents are afraid of what their children have access to without them knowing. Especially television since there's almost no restrictions on what type of content can be showed, in movies or in tv shows, and there's also no way to stop or monitor the programs one's family can have access to, except with parental block, but is parental block a appropriate solution to the problem, or is to controlling and a lazy form of parenting.…

One reason I believe parents should monitor is to keep their children safe so they can just to go on the internet freely and away from negativity. I believe this because most people want to surf the web and go on sites without strangers trying to chat with them or ads trying to take away their money. “Chatting with pedophiles or watching beheadings or gambling away their entire life savings” (Coben 1) is an example of negativity on the internet.…

Since its creation, the United States of America, has been a country with a mixture of populations and races. As a multiethnic nation, many black people and other cultures from all over the world have been part of this country. Along the years from 1850 to 1920, America has experienced different kinds of xenophobia and racism. The first and biggest racial discrimination has been towards black people, but after the inflow of immigrants and the American foreign policy when other places were being annexed, racism against immigrants and conquered races was easily notable.…

    Censorship In Society

This can, at first consideration, seem to be a positive attribute of censorship. If we can protect our children, why would we not? Why should we not? Some may say we should keep children sheltered from the world around them to protect them from all of the negative influences, but this protection may actually be something that is hurting the children. Eventually, no matter how much censoring is done, children will come into contact with inappropriate, dangerous, or hurtful information. Knowing this, we should be able to see that our job is not to handle everyone of these problems for them, but to help them to learn how to handle them themselves. If a child is never allowed access to the internet, never allowed to learn about what they should and shouldn’t trust or listen to, they will have no idea how to handle a new situation. Many terrorist organisations in our modern world have begun flocking towards social media as a tool to recruit those too young or too misguided to understand what they are doing. The kind of children that communicate, and possibly work with, these organizations are not necessarily bad, just simply making the only decisions they can think to make. These children are acting this way because they have had their life censored, have been defended from all information, and are therefore…

For instance, you cannot have a pilot, that according to their genetic make-up has a potential heart disease. This is a very dangerous and risky because at any moment the pilot can have a stroke and put the lives of passengers in danger. Although, this can be considered profiling and unfair, it is better to decline employment rather than put the lives of others in danger. Not only that, but a company can use genetic make-up to better improve the economy of their business. When taking a look at billionaire companies, they always look for a strong hard team to lead them to profit. Individuals with genetic makeups that propose they are intelligent and an extrovert will more likely be hired because they are what the company is looking for. On the other hand, those who do not qualify because of their genetic make-up suffer the lost because in reality, businesses do not take a look at your genetic make-up just because it is unique, but because it presents them with the characteristics you behold. If you lack any company requirements it is truly the individuals lost because all companies look for is people who can generate them profit. If you get the job, the company can also use the genetic make-up to offer health promotions and to take care of you. If you are obese, companies can recommend gyms, diets and…

It seems so simple to love, that the comfort of attraction lends itself to everyone and that the subtleties of interest are selfsame, by instinct at least; even so, it’s said that we’re conditioned to love, but to me, it’s not that we’re conditioned to it as much as we’re in the condition of its capability, simply being human—to love’s as natural as life itself, as typical as sight or sound, as native as a thought of rationality. Trouble, then, comes about when love we know true doesn’t quite liken the love someone else experiences, from which differences and judgements then arise. This is true of many circumstances, but continues to be true for Americans who identify as LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transgendered)—that judgments of them…
