The United States is one of the few countries that allow direct to consumer prescription drug advertising and, the United States has only allowed this kind of advertising for a relatively short period. This limited history of advertising medication leaves unanswered questions and ongoing discussions about its advantages and disadvantages to the public. Drug advertisements can help people become more proactive about their health and seek out medical treatment when necessary. However, despite having a more health conscious public there is still a steady increase the amount of prescriptions written in the United States. This could mean a few different things.
