In addition, they will be able to work less because less of their money will be consumed by care costs. Some Early Childhood Educators are only making thirteen dollars an hour. This is not a living wage. As a result of these low wages, centres are struggling with retention and recruitment of staff members.…

The first observation I did was at the Esmelda daycare, this daycare is a family daycare there the woman and husband showed me what they did every day they said that the toddler had hours for everything like what time they eat, how much time they had to play. Esmelda daycare promote language through play time she has book that help the toddlers learn the different animal or the ABC the woman would read the book to toddler by pointing to animal or letter and saying what it was she would also promote language by playing with the toys like counting how many Lego blocks there is or by saying the color of the toy right now. Esmelda daycare is not fully completed with all the material the toddlers need they are in process, but still not being a fully completed daycare you can see that the women and the husband take really good care of children when I was there as she was taking to me if the children need something she would stop and put attention to what the children need instead of just keep taking to me and ignored the child. Compare to the second observation did where each children age group has his own in Esmelda daycare see has all the children together he also has the toy room apart where they just go play when is play time and can’t go in until is play time again.…

Others are not able to at home due to economic reasons resorting them to choosing childcare. Today, non-parental care is showing to be a great alternative for many parents who require time from home in order to attend school or go to work. I support a center based childcare because it gives the child to interact with other children of their age and communicating with other children is so important when the child is young. Children who are around other children their age can learn and grow from one another. Children who are not socialized in the early years of their development will grow up lack skills to meet new faces and develop friendship and will tend to be shy unlike children who socialized during their tender ages (Bojczyk, Shriner & Shriner, 2012).…

The varying operations of daycares, from home-based care to child centers, allow sociologists to observe the complex and nuanced conditions that day care centers provide. Specifically, by measuring the differences of social organization within these centers, families are able to acknowledge that forms of childcare outside the home are generally positive for socialization and development. Dreby and Wrigley underline the capability of child care centers, exclaiming that “all types of child care are safer than care with children’s own families… [due to] more socially controlled environments… more visible [centers] and involve more daily accountability than the private realm of the family itself” (2005, 754). Aside from the increased input of women within the household, external sources of child care are statistically proven to be reliable sources where workers are trained to handle the time-consuming responsibilities of child-rearing. The data extrapolated by Dreby and Wrigley argues that fatalities within childcare centers are rare and are prevented due to the highly regulated social organization within daycares.…

Two types of daycare are family daycare and center daycare. Family daycare is provided for a small group of children in the home of a non-parental relative or non-relative. Although typically less expensive than center daycare and potential offering positive impacts in similar ways to “stay-at-home parents” (if the care provider is loving and attentive), family daycare also has disadvantages. Children of various ages are oftentimes grouped together, so activities may not be developmentally appropriate for all represented ages, especially if there is only one caregiver. This can also result in less one-on-one attention, particularly in light of higher caregiver-to-child ratios and the lack of enforcing regulations of childcare standards (Phillips & Adams,…
