Pros And Cons Of Curfew Essay

Most students have trouble getting home late at night and had plans that include going over curfew time. Many students and guardians would like a different curfew time but there are many debates about this. Some people are against getting a longer curfew and others would like to get a longer curfew. A Longer curfew makes some people fear what will happen to the community, where other people think it gives teens more of an opportunity to do things. In our paper you will hear the pros and cons about having curfew times.
One reason curfew should be longer is, lots of people argue that they don’t have enough time to hang out with their friends. Teens want to be able to do things like go to the bowling alley or skating rink. Some teens go to prom parties that usually last longer than the curfew and they don’t want to have to be rushed on time to get home. “In New Jersey a 17-year-old girl was cited for walking to a fast-food restaurant near her home after curfew even though she had permission” (Fichera). If someone has permission to do something they should have the right to do it. Teens will end up disliking the police even more if they get in trouble for something like that.
A reason curfew should not be changed is because parents get worried when they don’t know where their kids are. Sometimes kids think they are cool for staying out late and when they get home they get in trouble because they weren’t home on time and weren’t responsible enough to do as they are told. Kids don’t realize how worried their parents or guardians can get if they don’t know where their children are. If they are at an event late they need to let their parents or guardians know where they are otherwise it causes a bunch of chaos and
