Despite having knowledge of the Native Americans political policies, it did not stop the Europeans effort in order to take over once again. In the image showing Cortes as kingmaker, it is portraying Cortes almost knighting Ixlilxochitl as ruler. While they did have leaders already, this is making it seem as though Cortes is the ruler of everything; as though he is the one who can delegate the head of state. It all seems impeccably cordial and amicable, but in reality, it was a part of the “Spanish policy of isolating Tenochtitlan by means of creating regimes friendly to Cortes” (Cortes.) As a result, it was a scheme in order to get more currency and the reliance of those Native Americans around them just to slaughter or enslave them later. In spite of that fact, the Europeans were blindsided with some of Cortes’ troops coming under attack from Moctezuma and Qualpopoca.
To wrap it all up, the Europeans capability to become accustomed to their surroundings, in order to make money when they conceivably could not have, and the general understanding to take over the trading world only adds to an ever growing list of reasons why Europe is such a super power, even to this day.
