This evidence shows that the amount of people that use their guns irresponsibly is low. The public needs more good guys with guns instead of bad guys with guns the world to be a better place. Those who worry about concealed carriers misusing a firearm, endangering others need to realize that in order to obtain a license there are various background checks that must be completed. Concealed carry licenses aren’t just given to all who apply.
Having a concealed carry license not only promotes a sense of security for yourself, but for other people around you. The ability to protect yourself is available at a moment’s notice for those who obtain a concealed carry permit. One of the females holding a concealed carry permit stated that “women need to be able to defend their home and defend themselves if they go out. It’s just a safety issue.” (Procon.org) Gun owners have the responsibility on themselves to ensure they are their own first responders. If you have the training and can accurately hit a target, it isn’t only your right, but your responsibility to carry wherever you can.
